Has there ever been a fight with so many excuses used BEFORE the fight?

All i read about lately is how canelos got the judges and refs in his back pocket, GGG has aged considerable and nelo will outweigh him. Seriously every excuse in the book has been used BEFORE the goddamn fight. The only one that holds any weight is the judges and barely at that. People need to support the fighters or the fight and just stfu and stop trying to drown out the hype with their negative bs.

It's the same set of posters that do this...

    - They claim fighter X is sucking fighter Y, and fighter X sucks.
    - The fight gets signed, and they claim fighter X will pull out.
    - The fight gets closer, and the excuses roll out, including hyping up fighter X after all the disparaging comments.
    - Fighter X wins, and they refuse to give any credit, citing the excuses listed above.
    - They move on to fighter Z, and the cycle begins again.

    They never learn.

Must be living under a rock, if you havent read the numerous comments talking about the so called disadvantages that Gennady faces.

... ... Of course I read everything... The "disadvantages" were always there, as Canelo is the one who brings the money on the table... That's how it goes...

To conclude: If he dies, he dies... ( and I mean Canelo)...

Nothing compared to what's going to happen afterwards. It's gonna be Canelo was a protected light middle who lost to Floyd and Lara and barely got past Trout. He's best win was an old Cotto. Golovkin picked on him because he was small. Not long now, watch and see.

This is 100% what's going to happen. Don't forget "Floyd, Lara and Trout beat him".. And "Cotto was old, the other Cotto nearly knocked him out" ect..

Happens every big fight. Fans get nervous and start preemptively making excuses.

And sometimes after a fighter gets humiliated, his manager and trainer will make up an excuse after the fight in the locker room and they'll do such a poor job of explaining their scheme to the fighter that in the press conference afterwards the fighter won't even know the spot on his body where he's supposed to pretend he was injured. He'll point to his hand, then his wrist, before the manager has to quietly say over his shoulder , "your shoulder, you hurt your shoulder." And despite all of the obviousness of this, that fighters fans will believe it and still believe it several weeks later when the fighter says magic salt water cured him of a "severe" shoulder tear.
