Lara is more well-known than most of the fighters GGG defended his titles against.
The quality of Lara's opposition has dropped because fighters like GGG avoid him.
Your magic 8-ball might be broken. Shake it again.
He only got the fight when Canelo decided that he could have it. He didn't have to drop to a catch weight, but the catch is that he had to wait. Spin it however you like.Comment

Thank you for this post. I really don't have the strength to be pulling out quotes and whatnot from Team GGG. You want the big fight? You think everyone is ducking you? Then make concessions, all the bigger names of now had to do it. Mayweather did, Pac did, Cotto did, Hatton did etc
Now am not saying every boxer had to, but don't complain if you do not get those bigger names. This is why i said Team GGG would be at fault if GGG loses this fight, they waited too long to say yes to the fight because of money/weight.
Wait till the usual fanatics comes back with "They offer them the fight for later"Comment

For ****s sake. He didn't chose Brook. He settled on Brook when Brook's promoter offered him as an alternative when his other fighter's demands (Chris Eubanks Jr) threatened to derail the entire promotion.Canelo actively sought out Amir "not even all that impressive at 147" Khan. Situations are completely different you turd.Comment

If you can justify Golovkin ignoring Lara because he was not well-known enough, then you should understand fighters like Cotto and Canelo ignoring Golovkin for the same reason.
In your mind, GGG only avoided Lara because he was unknown, not because Lara is a talented fighter who could potentially outbox him. On the other hand, you want to believe Golovkin was ONLY avoided out of fear, and not because he was little known.
You want to give GGG the benefit of the doubt, but you judge others more harshly for the same conduct.
GGG ignored Lara because the risk was not equal to the reward. It's no different than the reason for others avoiding GGG.Comment

Goddamn are you just ****** or are you going out of your way to make things seem worse than they were. He wasn't forced on GGG. GGG could have just delayed his fight until another fighter came along or until Chris Eubanks Jr came to his senses.
That's fine unless of course you consider the following things:
1.GGG likes to fight at least 3 times a year and restarting negotiations with another middleweight would have killed that.
2. As it is, he only got to fight two times last year anyway because Danny Jacobs dragged his feet in negotiations and forced the fight to be moved from December to mid-March. Dragging out negotiations seems to be a habit for GGG's opponents (Jacobs, Canelo, Eubanks Jr, Froch)Comment
