Roman is accepting defeat but he's not being honest. Why isn't he hungry for the rematch when he and the boxing world said he won the first fight? I would've preferred he said he wasn't on his "A game," not the "shape." Or he could've said the Thai was the better fighter in both bouts combined.
Either way, accepting defeat is a noble and humble approach, just as many fighters say "he was the better man tonight.."

If angel heredia mcould bring chavez jr although a zombie to 164.5 i think he could bring chocolatito back to 112 with no problems.but seems roman is a little lazy trying to lose those 3 xtra lbs he doesnt look cut at 112 much less 115 the last time i saw him very cut thinking he had problems making weight was 108 112 not cut 115 little heavy on the bottom angel will bring u to a solid 112 and see what u got left fight the fillipino guy the best fillipines has to offer not a big puncher but excellent boxe cant recall his name but take 2 tune ups b4.donnie nietes is the guy great boxer not the heaviest puncher good way to test how much u have left beat him ur right back at top of mflyweights and this time stay there any 115 pounder wants to challenge u make them come down to you.

I tip my Hat to this Gentleman we all know as Roman Gonzalez.....His chic was a real hottie and I say good for him, he is enjoying the best that life has to offer...a true class act...I hope to see him in action at the 112 in about 1 year......He has got to let his mind, body and soul heal.

I love it and have been a Roman fan for a while, even though Rungvisai won me over as well and I was rooting for him the second time.
I hope Roman sticks around and keeps competing. I'm a no excuse guy myself as this was engrained in my in the military so I can relate to that mentality.
That said, there are times when an excuse isn't an excuse in that it's a cop-out, it might actually be a real complaint about the situation. You have to know the difference and respect those fighters as well. Not all losses a fighter incurs are due to simply being bested. Many things can happen in the ring.
