He probably would have lasted a little bit longer but he was already done psychologically.
Plus the wear and tear he's had over the last year. You could see he was on the decline. That and fighting against guys bigger than him.
He could have been in the best shape possible and Sor Rungvisai would have still KO'd him.
Probably being off psychologically is what made him train so little for this fight. He has no abs, no muscle in the chess, arms, anything. Like he trained only running to make weight and just a few sparring sessions or something like that. Like deep inside he knew this was his last fight.
Man his body just looked off badly. Like he didn't even train. check this back in 2015:
could just be he's getting older, body is responding differently. look at manny, he's less ripped in every fight. i just dont buy it that he didnt train or lack of training for a fight this big to him. he lost for the first time ever and it wasnt a walk in the park either the first time and in the rematch you wanna believe he didnt really train for it?
He looked really depressed coming into the fight. I knew he wasn't going to be the same after his long time trainer died a few months back.
Wangek had the eye of tiger though. Nobody at Super Fly was going to beat him that night.
he was never confident at all in no point of the fight. that's when i knew he wasnt gonna win. when he started complaining to the ref at every little head butt trying to put the blame on the thai fighter. that's when i knew he was looking for a way out.
