The guy who used to tell anyone who would listen that he wouldn't be like Floyd and duck guys, wait them out, and compromise them whenever he could not long ago was citing Floyd as the guy who taught him.

Golovkin has a very similar style to Chavez Snr, who's probably the greatest Mexican. It's the style I would most likely associate with Mexican boxing at its best.
