the start of the original post identifies the source of the 'fan scorecards'. No suggestion is made that these are particularly valid/correct or any other adjective. They are just one source of information that correlates a number of submitted fan scorecards (their name, not mine) and spews out a result. They seem to correlate quite well with the judges, and also serve quite well in terms of identifying the closer rounds and how people might arrive at scorecards between 115-112 for Golovkin and 115-112 for Jacobs.

Of course any correlation of fan scorecards will include some submitted by pro-Jacobs or pro-Golovkin people who may have been inclined to give more to their guy than the other, but with anything like this, if you have a fair number of scorecards the law of large numbers can come into play and you start to see useful information come out.

Make of them what you will/choose.

edit: just had a quick look and the 'fan scorecards' are the aggregation of 27 scorecards, 23 of which gave a max of 115 to one of the fighters. Three had 116 for Golovkin and one had 118 for Golovkin. Normally the 118 scorecard would be removed from any such set of data as its an outlier - one example of a flaw that can be found in the data. As mentioned, no undue authenticity is attached to the data, its just an interesting source of info to identify which rounds seem to be more closely scored than others.

Looks like the fix is in with Dave Moretti being a judge- Didn’t he score the Cotto fight wide for Canelo 119-111 or something similar. It’s starting to look like unless Gennady gets a KO Canelo will be receiving more favours from the judges.
Abel Sanchez says if GGG gets robbed its their fault for not finishing it inside the distance. Unfair pressure to put on Golovkin who I believe needs to start cautiously behind his jab to find his range. He should be under any additional pressure to start like a train because he fears corruption.

Gennady should win this on points. Canelo is too strong to be blown away IMO but the added muscle he’s acquired is a concern for the Mexican because that will slow him down and tire him out quicker. Even so, I think Canelos hand speed and counterpunching will get him through 12 rounds albeit on the receiving end. Fingers crossed no funny business on the scorecards and the right winner will be given the decision.
