If he's too small for the weight then he needs to retire.
Dude, did you see him making weight for Arroyo? He needed some suit that looked like baggy plastic grocery bags. And he just about made the 7 day weights limit, barely, using that suit.
You all saying he needs to go back down are ignoring that he was killing himself to make 112.
He can run with it, run with the media, fans sympathy of him being small, and attempt to make 112 again but he will go through hell for it and he won't do it for more than 1 more time. Dude walks around 130lbs, how are you gonna say he belongs at 112? What's he gonna do cut off a leg?
Not long ago Roman himself claimed he was having issues making 112. What makes things worse is how everyone claims 3 lbs between divisions is a huge difference in the smaller weights but act like Roman rehydrating 12 to 15 lbs on fight night was nothing note worthy.
Truth is Roman wasn't a natural fly and his fatass was jumping through divisions because he was outgrowing the divisions due to his inability to shrink down as he aged. He looked phenomenal because he was out powering men whom were naturally fit for their divisions, but hit a wall once he faced a fighter his size.
He claimed he wanted to go as far a 118 lbs and campaign there. I've noted in the past thst 115 was most likely his ceiling, mostly because his skill set isn't built to outbox but more or less out power and grind down. It's a physically grueling style that isn't made for the long haul.
If anything, SSR soften him up the first go around and planted him in the rematch. Outgunned and with a faltering confidence, it was bound to happen.Comment

This is accurate i think.
I disagree with those saying he got old overnight. Look how spectacular he was looking about a year ago and a supposed no.1 P4p fighter. It's one thing being a half decent fighter and looking shot suddenly, but you don't really go from being supposedly of of the very best fighters in the game to shot that quickly.
He simply had to start fighting guys his own size and got beaten. That's the top and bottom of it. That's the reason he was looking less effective as he moved up to 115, not because he got old.
It's really no different to the likes of Broner looking great beating smaller guys up until he had no choice but to move up, it's just that Chocolatito managed to get to 46-0 or whatever it was while beating up smaller men, so they put him at the top of some p4p lists.Last edited by TheBigLug; 09-11-2017, 01:58 PM.Comment
