The reason Broner "never lets his hands go"

it's not because of his trainers or bad gameplanning because in the garcia fight they were telling him he needs to get aggressive and he just ignored them

it's not because of lack of power/speed because the only times he looked good in his losses was when he came forward

it is simply because he's scared of getting knocked out and does not want to get caught with a shot that puts him down for the count. I came across this post from him on instagram and was amazed

He honestly thinks not getting stopped automatically puts him up to ATG level and he will continue to hold on to that. If he actually "let his hands go" there would be a greater risk of him getting knocked out and he doesn't want that. It reminds me of Wilt Chamberlins obsession with not fouling out of a game and he would just stop playing defense when he was a foul away from getting tossed out. Broner is just physically and mentally unable to let his hands go in fights because if he gets ko'd he has absolutely nothing to fall back on. It's a shame because he obviously had potential but he sabotaged his own career because he is scared of getting ko'd. In 10 years he will be homeless on Floyds doorstep begging for money and telling random people passing by "did you know i never got stopped but ali did?". What a shame

Interesting theory. Could be something to it cuz I think everyone can see Broner gots more in his tank then he shows while being overly careful for far too long in fights that he's competitive in when he actually puts it on the line.

He hasn't "let his hands go" since his thrashing by the hands of Maidana.

We have seen a different AB since then and Marcos is the prime reason for this.

Nahhh....this is how broner has always fought. This goes all the way back to the ponce de leon fight, the malignaggi fight. Broner just doesnt let his hands go. I believe its a conditioning issue or just a bad habit that formed over the years of not punching when the opponent is punching.

I think Broner is so narcissistic he thinks his mere presence in the ring commands respect. But seriously Maidana took his soul in their fight and it was such a joy to watch.

Actually he admitted on his drink champ interviews with nore recently or alluded to the reason he's change and doesn't let his hands go, he took his family to the colon fight and seeing colon take punishment then walk out smiling only to be in a coma later affected him, he said its traumatic that colon is basically a vegetable but throw some pads In front of him and he'll try to slap pads..you could hear his moment of clarity in his voice, like he second guessing is the sport really worth it...Broner made too much money and no longer thirsts to get his head beat in and take that life changing shot he don't see, he fights for his family, he once had the confidence but chino showed him that life changing power exist, Broner is simply having fun out here at this point, he's done....

Broner lost to a super bantamweight in Ponce and even then waited to late to mount an offence. Broner needs hypnosis to correct his slow starts. End of story.

i could believe that if he let his hands go prior to the colon fight but he rarely did

Man i'm tired of these people making excuses or trying to understand broner. He just isn't that good. Never was, never will be. If you thought he would be the next elite fighter in boxing you were an idiot and probably still are.
