Comments Thread For: Usyk Stops Huck in Tenth, Advances in WBSS Tournament

Usyk said before the fight he wanted to put on an exciting fight.
He can't win either way. He could have easily just stayed away from Huck and box comfortably from the outside or he could have easily defeated him in a good entertaining fight like he did today.
Sure he could have taken him out earlier. I sensed that Huck didn't want to be there from the middle rounds on, but Usyk is just a very cautious smart fighter. He wasn't going to make any dumb mistakes. The only time he lets his hands go more is in the last couple of rounds. He loves to finish fights very strong. You could see it from his performances.

Pointless fight, I was just talking in a fantasy football chat how washed up Huck is without knowing this fight was on, and I come in here to see he got stopped already.
I still don't quite know what Huck was doing in the tourney if the division is supposedly so stacked. I'd like to see WBSS for other weight classes that are actually stacked with no 'filler' opponents like Huck.

and lol at the negative comments in here. why are you guys so bitter and angry when a european fighter looks good. usyk put on a clinic tonight, hucks nothing special these days but usyk deserves credit, looked very sharp and he put down a marker in the tournament. hes the man to beat.

Like it or not, that stoppage was early.
Ya'll think Usyk is better than prime Huck? No!
Isiah Thomas is as good as Usyk but he's just unmotivated
Now all the fanboys are gonna jump on the Usyk hype train
Good luck!

Usyk gets hit too much and is a slow starter. He'll probably rule over the cruiserweight division but if he moves up to HW this will lead to his demise. He doesn't seem to have the power to hurt the big guys either. He's quick on his feet but it's hard to move around for 12 rounds at HW.
I can see the likes of Joshua walk through whatever Usyk has to land bombs. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't think Usyk is ready for super-HWs.

Usyk is like the new Calzaghe, haven't seen a guy get credited with so many phantom punches since him. They kept showing the replays in the german broadcast and he was missing almost everything he was throwing every single round.

The problem with usyk/guys who spent along time in the amateurs is it takes along time to get rid of the bad habits from the am's. which is why it was good to see him actually go for the finish against a tough huck as opposed to playing with his food and winning a ud.
