He misses at a higher percentage, but he throws so much that he connects with a lot more.
He doesn't have one punch KO power, he is an accumulation type of KO artist. That wouldn't be possible if he didn't land a lot of punches.
The other thing I like about Usyk is that he is a clean fighter. Huck was holding and punching, doing low blows, and even lost a point for hitting Usyk when he was down. But Usyk fights clean. I respect that.

I keep hearing he got hit a lot but where? On the guard as he covered up and stepped away? The guy is dancing around the ring, great upper body movement on top of that yet his defense is bad? His face post fight was clean, he took some shots to the body yes.
On the subject of offense I too scratch my head...he misses a lot? Well he does throw a ton of punches and some do miss, but I guess those 4 punch combos bouncing off of Huck's head were phantom shots right? It was all clever Hollywood editing correct?
Usyk took shots from super heavies in WSB and it only got him angry and amped up.
The only minus that he has so far, which can be trouble is his power. He might not have the power to get the respect of some guys who'll just absorb his shots...but then what? You can't walk him down, he moves too well and just gasses guys like that. His movement tires opponents out...
Even though he does not have A level power, he'll keep getting TKOs as he tees off on guys in Championship rounds and refs will step in to stop it.
At the moment the guy is just that good, until proven otherwise there is nothing more to say.
Great start to the tourney.

In my opinion, Usyk's defense is good. When Huck gave a step forward to start an attack, Usyk gave steps back. Additionally, he made some good lateral movements before Huck was about to throw. His movement made Huck's efforts futile, and was one of the reason's Huck fatigued.

Win lose or draw, his heart and effort is enough for me..

I was a little surprised to see the tournament (and division) being somewhat downplayed in some threads immediately after the fight.
If some guys weren't too hot on this fight beforehand, i can get that (personally, i couldn't wait to get the whole thing started). It's only the first round though, so some fights will be predictable in the outcome. But it was a fun start and is going to get better.
Just a few weeks back we had a boxer fighting an MMA fighter. An actual MMA fighter! This tournament is exactly what boxing needs, and cruiserweight is the perfect division for it. It's deep, and the guys usually gel well and make for fun fights.
Loved the sound of the fight atmosphere also.
