Usually when the son hates the father theirs a reason. I wouldnt be surprised if this relationship was similar to the relationship that Roy Jones has with his dad. Just you usual instance of the father pushing the son to hard. I know I heard that Sr used to cuss him out whenever he would mess up while training which is similar to the way Roy's dad would hit him on the back of the calf with a switch whenever he would mess up.

FATHER'S DAY?: The biggest roadblock to a megafight between Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been Mayweather's father, who trains De La Hoya.

That problem may have a $2-million solution.

In a recent interview with the Grand Rapids Press , Floyd Mayweather Sr. backed off his earlier comments that he would never train another fighter to beat his son.

According to the article, that change is brought on by a near-meeting between father and son last week. Big Floyd was at his mother Bernice 's home when his son showed up. Told his father was inside, Little Floyd left.

If De La Hoya comes up with the cash, it appears the proposed fall fight, which would be the biggest of the year, is okay by Big Floyd.

"If Oscar talks to me now about fighting my son and if he comes up with the right digits for me, to where I'm comfortable with it, the fight is on," he said in the article.

"That's something I don't want to do. I've been trying to avoid it. But mark my words, my son would get hurt. Oscar may take a few punches, but Floyd is going to get stopped in the fight because I'm going to make it happen. It's 12 rounds. At some point, he's going to get hit. And if he gets hit and hurt, the fight is over."

Floyd Sr. is a basket case, I spoke with him years back and in the course of a 30 minute conversation he said he would never train against his son followed by a hell yeah I would train a fighter to beat my son...flip flop.

He went back and fourth on this issue just like he is doing now...if the money is right he is in after all it appears lil floyd is not giving senior much in the way of charity.
