Comments Thread For: David Benavidez vs. Ronald Gavril - CompuBox Punch Stats

Although David Benavidez was dropped by a left hook in the final round (more of a balance shot than a really damaging blow), the 20-year old still became boxing's youngest current titleholder as well as the youngest man ever to win a piece of the super middleweight title by capturing the WBC belt vacated by Badou Jack (who was at ringside) via a split decision that probably should have been unanimous.

Although I believe Benavidez won, I don't like when people talk about punch stats. Not only are they fallible, but number of punches landed doesn't say much about what actually took place in the rounds. It's annoying when people refer to punch totals to claim a certain boxer won.

compubox is crap. why not have a non biased organization do actual punch stats after the fight so we can get accurate numbers? might take a day or two but so? this is just dumb guessing and its always wrong

Yes like compuDaggum. The only fair and objective punch counter who watches fights in slow motion to determine the true winner
