I don't think Canelo would ever quit. He has a great chin so he can take some heavy head blows and remain standing. If he is taking too much punishment his corner should throw in the towel. It would be the right thing and the smart thing to do. GGG also has an iron jaw and doesn't quit. If GGG is taking too much punishment his corner should also stop the fight. How much punishment is too much is a judgement call. Both men will probably get hit a lot so the corners can't panic and stop the fight too early when their man wasn't that bad off and could rebound and win the fight.
Canelos corner might throw in the towel

I agree with most of what you said. I don't think GGG needs to win win 9 of the 12 rounds big with knock downs to win the fight. If GGG wins 7 rounds clearly that should get him a points win. He doesn't need 9 dominant rounds plus knock downs just to win by a slight margin. The judges will probably lean toward Canelo and give him the close rounds but I doubt they will be completely unfair to GGG.From my honest point of view and opinion:
This truly is a tough fight to say exactly what is going to happen.
Many different things and outcomes can happen.
I believe either guy can win and has a good shot. It's those intangibles and questions that are going to be answered that we don't really know about going into the fight.
I can see scenarios where Canelo cuts Triple G's face up and the fight getting stopped on cuts with Canelo up on the cards.
I can see Canelo focusing on Triple G's body to try to wear him down that way. The problem is Triple G is going to be throwing fire too. So while I think Canelo will get some shots to the body in, I don't think it will be enough to completely wear down Triple G because Canelo is not going to constantly stay there in front of him to take those shots from Triple G. And Triple G will be hitting Canelo to the body as well.
The only way I see a Canelo win by knockout is if it's due to cuts on Triple G's face or something of that nature. A win for Canelo is more likely by decision.
I can see Triple G eventually wearing Canelo out and getting a TKO win in the late rounds.
For Triple G to win by decision it is going to have to be quite clear and obvious that he won. By having a knockdown or knockdowns, staggering Canelo or really dominate at least 9 rounds or more.
The deck is stacked against Triple G when it comes to winning by a decision as we've seen in the past with Canelo scorecards against Trout, Mayweather, Lara and Cotto. Not saying the right guy didn't win, just saying scorecards were ridiculous for those fights.
Which may lead to another scenario where a lot of people may say that Triple G won but was robbed on the scorecards creating controversy and setting up a rematch.
Or we may get where Canelo in the views of many did win and deserved the decision.
Hopefully we can also get where Triple G seems like the winner after 12 by many and gets the decision if indeed he earned it and won in the eyes of many. This kind of thing seldom happens though.
It's because of these many scenarios, intangibles and questions that it is hard for me to predict an outcome on this fight.
How will Canelo fare against his first real Middleweight and that being the best Middleweight? How will Triple G deal with Canelo's hand speed and how much more power will Canelo have at Middleweight? Does Triple G have a chance to win a decision at all? Can Triple G deal with Canelo's skillset? Can Canelo last 12 rounds against Triple G and if he does, which is definitely a possibility in my opinion will the judges be fair, does Triple G have any chance at all winning a close decision if it looks like he was the clear winner in a close fight, they may even score a draw if it looks like Triple G won a lot of rounds. Hopefully it will not be a controversial ending and the right man wins and in the eyes of the fans, people, judges it is the rightful winner whether that be by decision or knockout.
My prediction is I have no prediction. This is a tough fight to call to say exactly what is going to happen.
Let's just hope for the best and may the best man win!Comment

The judges were generous to Canelo in scoring the Trout, Lara and Cotto fights. But even with perfect, fair judging I still think he deserved to win all three fights. He very clearly beat Cotto by a wide margin even if not by as many points as the judges said. He beat no doubt Trout without a doubt but the fight was closer than the judges had it. Trout said Canelo deserved the win. The Lara fight was a close one but in all the polls I've read the majority thought Canelo won. It's hard to give Lara the win when they landed about the same amount of punches with Lara mostly running with Canelo chasing. Canelo landed the harder blows. One judge gave Lara the win so he did Canelo no favors.Comment

Don't what it is about GGG that makes his haters get so in their feelings. It's not that serious. I think GGG stops Canelo by 9 or 10th.Comment

How exactly do you know that? Are you a fortune teller? Get real. This is a close fight and the betting establishments all have GGG a slight favorite. Nobody on earth knows how this fight will end until it's over and that includes you. If you said you think Canelo will win I would have no problem with that. We are all just guessing who will win and either man can win or it could be a draw. You are saying Canelo will absolutely slaughter GGG with no possibility of a GGG win. If you really believed this you would be betting every dime you could get on the underdog Canelo. Are you betting a bundle on Canelo to win?Comment

He didn't say carried Jacobs. He said because it was a close fight and he went 12, Canelo's management fugured he was slipping. It would be smart to do that for any corners fighter honestly!
Imagine if Canelo's the one dishing out the beating and cuz of Sanchez's and GGG's belief that Canelo can't hurt them then he ends up taking way too much than he needs which could change him for worse at the already beyond ripe age of 35!
You GGG fans would be claiming that he's a warrior but that beating could've seriously jeopardized his health!
I see lots of Golovkin fans saying Canelo is gonna get killed and won't be the same fighter and then sh!+ on him but yet he chose a so called "easy kill" fight over a rematch with a man who deserved an immediate rematch!
Some warrior Golovkin, he's a businessman like the rest of them, just LOOK at what he said about him letting the fight with Jacob's go close on purpose!
I smell a very rude awakening on the 16th!Comment
