THIS WEEK WE gathered in Leeds to launch the promotion of our visit to the FD Arena on October 21 where the local lad made good, Josh Warrington, will hopefully negotiate the final step towards a shot at the IBF world featherweight title. It is fairly well documented that we sought to create a shortcut for Josh and made a hefty offer to the team of the current champion Lee Selby but, ultimately, the nature of the demands made told us they do not want the fight at this point in time.

I don't think it's because Selby's running scared that he's avoided fighting Warrington so far, I think he'd not have too much trouble beating him.

I think Warrington has been matched well so far but I don't rate him that highly. The person who beats Selby needs to be skilful and carry a bit of power and Warrington has decent skills but no power. His home support is unbelievable so he should be making good money.

He hasn't avoided Warrington. Josh was offered the fight last summer. He turned it down to get married now he has to earn his shot.
