  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin: If I KO'd Jacobs, I Would Not Be Getting Canelo Fight!

Boxing's No. 1 superhero and undefeated WBC/WBA/IBF/IBO Middleweight World Champion, GENNADY "GGG" GOLOVKIN and lineal and Ring magazine Middleweight World Champion and Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez are entering their epic showdown with each coming off very different performances. On March 18, in front of a packed Madison Square Garden, Golovkin beat fellow world champion Daniel Jacobs by unanimous decision in a hard-fought battle. It was Golovkin's 18th consecutive title defense -- two short of the record -- since becoming world champion in 2010 and the first to go the distance. That had media speculating that age was starting to become a factor for Golovkin, currently boxing's longest-reigning world champion. Two months later, on May 6 -- at a catchweight of 164.5 pounds (the less-than-super super middleweight division?) -- Alvarez won a lopsided unanimous decision over former middleweight champion Julio Csar Chvez, Jr., who barely threw a punch and did everything he could do to survive. Not win.

Boxing is a business. If I look great against Jacobs…if I knocked him out, I would not be getting this fight with Canelo now. Jacobs was a very good fighter and gave me good learning experience going 12 rounds. I have never done that before. I felt amazing going 12 rounds for the first time. Jacobs gives everyone problems.
So what is it? You carried him or he gave you good learning experience cuz it can't be both guy. GGG is a fùcking liar and I'm dying to see his charrypicking asś lose.

"if I knocked him out,* I would not be getting this fight with Canelo now." -Golovkin

Not true at all. The fight was offered to you before the Jacobs fight for 10mil but you guys refused. Plus there was no way you could KO Jacobs. No excuses.....

He is absolutely positively not saying he carried Jacobs so get your head out of your a$$. Many people, myself included, thought that while dangerous Jacobs lacked the chin to withstand GGG's punches myself included. We were all surprised. GGG is simply saying that if that had been the case he wouldn't have gotten the Canelo fight AND that it was a good learning experience for him to go 12 rounds with a tough opponent. There is absolutely **** all to suggest that he carried Jacobs you ****ing hater.

Left unsaid is that GGG would have had to meet Canelo at a catchweight, would get no percentage of the pay per view money and that Canelo preferred to give up a belt rather than face GGG once already.

Nowhere in that quote did he say he carried Jacobs. He stated what most observers knew. If he looked good he wouldn't be fighting Canelo. Your do desperate to find fault with Golovkin you read what you want into everything he says.
