Well my thinking is, it would only benefit Cotto if it happened @147,because it certainly wouldnt hurt him in any way.
Whereas Mayweather would be strogner @140 than 147.
I dont know man, I think alot of people would see it the exact other way. I think alot of people might think that Cotto has a huge weight advantage at 140 but its not that big at 147. I think most people think that Cotto is so huge at 140 that he can beat guys strictly on weight but if both of them move up then the weight advantage wont be as big.
Like alot of people think Hatton can overpower Floyd at 140 but cant do it as much at 147 and will lose

I can understand that argument against other fighters,Ive heard it.But with floyd, floyds not that big @147 anyway, cotto would still have the weight advantage and be at a comfortable weight.
I'd probably have to go with Mayweather - de la Hoya, just b/c the build up to it we be huge. It would be one of those fights that non-boxing fans would watch, and everyone would be talking about. It'd be good for the sport.
However, I like slugfests just like anyone else. So from that point-of-view I'd like to see:
Cotto-Hatton
Hatton-Mayweather (probably not a slugfest, but just to shut everyone up already)
Arce-Darchinyan
Corrales-Juan Diaz (although I'd be split on this fight. I love Corrales, but Diaz is from my hometown, so I'd have to pull for him).
Barrera-Pacman 2
Corrales-Castillo 3 (not immediately, but in the future at a heavier weight, while they're still in their primes. Damn, I was looking forward to that fight!)
