I dont think the style of Martinez is really that difficult for Mayweather. He is awkward and a southpaw, that's true, but his style really depends on him being faster and quicker than his opponent.

It worked well at middleweight, because none of his opponents were especially athletic. Murray, Macklin, Chavez Jr., Williams, Pavlik, Dzinzuruk are decent opponents, but none of them offered a tricky style.

I dont see how Martinez is going to outbox Mayweather for big stretches of the round and he doesnt have the intense pressure style of Maidana or Castillo to make Mayweather uncomfortable and be able to just outwork Mayweather.
Martinez relied much on his counterpunching skill, but Mayweather was one hell of a counterpuncher too and is defensively one of the best.
Martinez on the front foot has a very basic punch variety, mostly jabs and straights, he doesnt really have an inside game.

The prime Mayweather at 147, moving up to 154 for Martinez would win a very cautiously fought 9-3 decision.

martinez was one of my fave fighters but his skills were overrated in my book. wouldnt be shocked if floyd did a number on him like he did to canelo.
