I wouldn't listen to Fat Dan on these things. He despises Haymon and is an HBO shill. I'd be shocked if Showtime declined this fight. Their entire future is being planned around AJ.
Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev could land on HBO

They are doing a pretty bad job.
They haven't promoted him at all.
I mean put him on some talk show on CBS or something.
Yes I know he was on some show, but it was when the show was in the UK.
I think Showtime would match any offer.
But if HBO goes big, who knows?Comment

Isn't that a managers jobs? Or promoter at best? What network is putting their fighters on Fallon?
And why would they even do that in the first place since they don't have a long term deal with him? Thats just asking for someone to come drink your milkshake. You building up a guy who only got matching rights too lol. That don't even make sense. Joshua is a Sky fighter more than any other networks fighter.Comment

HBO needs a big name fighter to push, and having the HW champ would be a great thing for them to do. I'd be all for Joshua going with HBO. They treated the Klitchkos well, and none of their fights were PPV. They can use the same format and have him fight home in England where he would make enough money to not need the added PPV revenue.Comment

Yes that is true. But since Showtime is owned by CBS then it would be pretty easy for them to just put him on.Isn't that a managers jobs? Or promoter at best? What network is putting their fighters on Fallon?

Eddie Hearn is pretty focused on boxing, so his manager might should have done that.
HBO needs this fight IF they still have some interest in boxing.
They really should sign him to a lucrative deal.
If they are not interest in boxing, well then it doe not matter.Comment

I totally agree.
To have the heavyweight champion would be great for HBO.
I believe they would do better ratings & viewing numbers.Comment

Who does that doe? Like legit question. I know the UFC has put guys on shows (although Nate Diaz had to use his own sources to get on shows from what I've heard), but they are ultimately the promoter. Arum or Koncz has gotten Manny on shows. But idk that HBO or Showtime has ever put anyone on some late night talk show. Thats just not what they do.
Yea thats actually a legit question right now. I've been one of the people saying that I think the budget cuts from 2000ish til now indicate to me HBO isn't fully into boxing like they once were. If that can change idk, but personally I think HBO is playing a bigger game with Netflix & Amazon right now more than they are trying to compete with Showtime over boxing.HBO needs this fight IF they still have some interest in boxing.

Showtime had a 4 fight deal with AJ. Martin, Breazeale and Molina and Vlad fights were shown on showtime. Contract has expired but they might renew.. Best to stay with showtime to get Wilder.. But then again AJ had proved he can get both networks to show his fights and HBO praised him highly after his performance against Vlad.Comment

What in the world? Showtime is not the promoter guys. It's not their job to put him on shows. LOL. That's Hearn's job.
HBO would be a terrible place for AJ. They have 90% PPV fights now. Why would we want the most marketable HW in generations stuck on PPV??Comment
