Biggest fight in boxing != flat fee.

And then you have the GBP vice president saying Canelo wasn't ready for Golovkin last year.

What else fool? what else? you lose big this discussion, in many ways.
I showed you the ****ing thread where the Golovtards are calling him a liar and you still claim i'm bull****ting?

They said 8 figures ****** not $10 million, $10 million is the minimum it could have been. 10 mil and 15 mil are both 8 figures.

    Lets talk FACTS.

Golovkin "Mr. 154-168" wouldn't budge on weight for the biggest name in the sport.

Golovkin turned down 5x his highest purse for a fight.

You don't know what Golovkin has accepted for the fight now.

Yep. You don't get W's for fights you didn't have, but the reality is there is no top 3 guy in any division that I can think of thats had more fights with name guys fall through or has been straight avoided for whatever reason than GGG.

He's a scary guy who had a long KO streak til Jacobs + he doesn't pay well for the risk you are taking thus not as many names on GGG's resume as their should be. Unfortunately thats how boxing works sometimes for guys like GGG.

I suspect the best thing that could happen to him vs Canelo is that he loses or he wins & the PPV does beyond the expected numbers so future potential opponents will either be willing to try to beat GGG better than Canelo did to earn that big Canelo payday after beating GGG or the future PPV money will enhance the offerings to fight GGG & the risk & reward might be more worthwhile.

actually people were saying floyd got old after the first maidana fight. they said his legs were done.. so in the rematch he proved he still had fresh legs but now they said he moved too much. cant win.

the only ppl saying little g is old are his own supporters getting that excuse ready when canelo wrecks him. trust me thats gonna be their narrative post fight. they will give canelo no credit at all.

What's interesting to me, is that a weight drained, absolutely terrible looking Chavez Jr. who was blown out and shut out badly, said that none of Canelo's punches had power at that weight and he couldn't even put him down. If he can't hurt Gennady, then GGG will just come forward all night and land his own hard shots. Canelo, albeit a great fighter, has been known to get a little tired later in fights. Chavez Jr. never had enough energy to press the action and see if you could wear him out at a bigger weight. I'm wondering if GGG will be able to. This is an interesting fight. We'll see how both guys box after they've been cracked with each other's power shots. Canelo won't run around the ring. They'll both stand and trade, so this fight won't go 12.

Floyd and Ward are defensive, dirty boxers with great reflexes, especially Floyd. Floyd also gets to cherry pick opponents, weights, the gloves his opponents wear, etc. Ward got to pick the perfect time to fight Kov as well as have the ref and judges on his side. So they can decline a bit and still win every fight because their styles are not built on volume or power, and everything is in their favor. Also, being top American boxing stars, they probably have better hookups for "nutrition" as they age than a Khazak boxer does, as well.

GGG did not get to pick the perfect time for the Canelo fight to happen. Canelo got to pick the perfect time for him. GGG did not get to drain Canelo like Floyd did. Instead he will have to face the best Canelo we've ever seen, Canelo's "final form" if you will. GGG is not a defensive, dirty boxer with reflexes to spare. His style is dependent on insane volume and stamina, just like Pacquiao's was in his prime, and you saw Pacquiao's volume begin to decline at age 32 as well. GGG is now 35. In his prime, GGG did not have elite speed, but he had underrated speed and excellent reaction time and reflexes. In other words, overall, he had just enough speed to deliver all his power and volume onto the target. But unlike Floyd, he did not have extra speed to spare. Once his speed declines just slightly, and he can no longer land the power consistently on top opponents, then his power won't be worth anything, and his effectiveness in the ring will decline swiftly.

And as his speed declines, he will miss more punches, which will tire even prime boxers out, but for this to happen at the same time as his stamina also declines could be catastrophic to his effectiveness in the ring.

So I feel Abel is showing his ignorance by bringing up Floyd and Ward. If Abel wants GGG to maintain his spot at the top of the sport as long as Floyd did, he better make sure he works on GGG's reflexes, speed, and stamina above all else, and finds a way to keep his quick twitch muscles quick and responsible as he ages.

It's official. BBB sides own team just took the age excuse off the table.
BBB side is the same guy he was 2 or 3 years ago, only difference is he's not fighting guys on house arrest and other bums.
This isn't a Mayweather/Pacquiao situation where Jr. Waited almost 3 years after pac got KTFO to fight him.
BBB side fans will have to find another excuse when he loses.

Yes, Canelo is a good fighter. I will respect him more if he wins some young top guys at 160. Until now he has beaten elite fighters, but most of them are old small guys. Cotto, Mosley. I will become fan of Canelo if he beats Jacobs, Saunders and Charlo. For example, I was hater of Terence Crawford when he was beating small guys like Gamboa. Now I respect him very much, because he has already beaten bigger guys like Postol and Indongo. And he is not dirty like Ward.

Golovkin is getting older and slower. It is fact. Not excuse. Now if GGG loses to Eubank jr or Saunders, then I won't be surprised. Because he is not good as he was 2-3 years ago. Just look at his speed in fights 2-3 years ago and against Wade, Brook, Jacobs.

If he shows the same performance that was against Jacobs then I think GGG wins by close decision. But I don't think so. He gets slower over times.

You think GGG or any recent boxer fought better opposition than Floyd?

Floyd fighting a much bigger Canelo is easier than GGG fighting Canelo who's smaller than him?

Or Ward or Floyd are more likely to have juiced than GGG? Fake ass *****

The notion that Golovkin's age is a factor is ridiculous. He's been waiting, focused and completely ready for this fight. If he loses to Canelo it will have nothing to do with his age or condition. It will be because Canelo (on Sept 16 at least) will turn out to be the better fighter. Period. These guys are like to teams in the Superbowl. Anyone of them can win on any given night.
