Alvarez Has Always Shown Respect To GGG, Gennady However Disrespected Him, "Clown"
Let's revisit memory lane cause bets are on the line!!
Fight hype Q4 2015, Nelo Preps For Cotto:
Fight Hype: "Would You Like A Fight With Gennady Golovkin?"
Nelo: "He's a good friend of mine, I know him. We've done work together before. He is a great Champion. In two years time or less I'll be ready for 160. But if he wants to fight now he has to come down to my weight."
HBO continues to ask him about GGG: "I know him. He's a good friend of mine. He's a great champion. But I'm not afraid of anybody. Even now I'd put the gloves and fight him."
And so on and so on and so on. Meanwhile GGG and fans criticize GGG and his weight fantasies of 154-168 as well as to say Ward was a ducker...
Fast forward:
GGG gets the WBC and is no longer interested in fighting Nelo as the media helps to try and push the fight. We only get "My focus is all the belts... be like Monzon and Hagler..."
Alvarez is still in limbo as Oscar and mgmt and the WBO try to secure the 160 WBO but BJS and Warren play hardball. It is better for Box Nation to fight for all the belts than to risk and lose against to Alvarez since a fight in the U.K. or Astana is also great prize fighting purses.
GGG refuses both a U.K. Appearance and Expo 2017, refuses the opportunity for "easy work" to be undisputed at 160, and chooses to fight Alvarez which he said was a clown, disrespect to boxing, and wasn't even interested in the fight?! Yet for years said his focus was 160 and the belts!!!!!
GGG has brought bad karma upon himself.
