Kovalev back on Nov. 25? Too soon to say for sure, says Duva

    by Michael Woods
Rumor is Sergey Kovalev is looking to get back in the ring for another swing. November 25 in New York, on HBO, whispers say.

What of those whispers, I asked Kovalev’s promoter Kathy Duva, the boss of Main Events, the New Jersey based institution in fight game promotion since the later 1970s.

    Truth or fiction?

“Way premature. We’ll see,” she responded.

I am curious; how is Kovalev, mentally especially, following his last outing, in which he got stopped by Andre Ward, leaving him 0-2 in his last two, both against the Oaklander.

I mean, is he still keen to box?

    Kovi is washed up
    Duva don't care about him
The man has been beaten down mentally
Will never be the same fighter that's for sure

Losing two controversial fights against a great confident talent like ward isnt gonna permanantly hurt kovalev imo. Ill still watch the guy, kovalev is a tough sob

Yeah I agree. But if Duva is smart, she'll get the most money for the next fight, especially given Kova's mental state.

Duva has been screwing Kovi for the longest time
She'll try to get herself the most cash but couldn't care less about the boxer
She royally screwed him when she thought she had the upper hand in the purse bid with Adonis
She walked away from the purse bid thinking she would get a thousand phone calls instead f$&k all

KO Stevenson and humbly ask Ward for a rematch. It's that easy. Dudes have too much ego, you can have all the ego you want once you get your target to sign the contract.

That being said. Kovalev is an ego fighter and will have a hard time adjusting to his new reputation. He still could knock out most of his division. But those skeletons are in the closet if ever he gets challenged.

Just like Frock the arrogant bully had to fight his demons when he got intimidated by the third rate bum Groves . It should of never been a fight- it's easy to toy with ego fighters.
