Showtime's Stephen Espinoza said the number will likely rise some as more firm figures come in.

I suspect they are being conservative because of the blow back from the bad streaming.

Its crazy how the boxing public fell for this over-hyped fighter between a amateur/pro! It's clear Floyd carried Conor throughout the entire fight but a lot of people are giving Conor credit for really doing nothing! Floyd could have ended the fight before the 4th round if he wanted to. I'm all for guys maximizing their profit but this is part of the reason many top fighters refuse to fight other top fighters. Fans DO NOT support top fighters fighting other top fighters, instead, they support BOXING EVENTS! Why should the best fight the best when fans don't support it?

            Exceeded expectations

But that stoppage was too soon. Solid fight with a lame ending.

That's what market demand and supply is about. It might not be the best product, but if the people are willing to pay for it, you sell it. Gotta hand it to Floyd with the four highest pay-per-views and the 'Money' bad guy persona. Most people paid to see him lose, not because they love his boxing style. It could be argued that he did lose one or two of those big ppv fights, but he had a heck of a career. Not a much loved fighter but he has the money and hopefully he won't blow it all needlessly, as most rich boxers have.

Agreed Aaron. A lame stoppage and biased commentators and judges as usual in Vegas, but wasn't the worst fight. But now let's see a better and higher level fight this month, Canelo-Golovkin.

A non-boxing fan who watched the match told me that he thought it was a great fight. I told him it was not that good, it just seemed exciting because of the 'edge of your seat' aspect of seeing a revered MMA superstar try to beat the most famous boxer in recent years.

Amazingly I agree. Thought it was gonna be a sh^t show that woulda killed the PPV numbers of GGG vs Canelo. Now I think GGG vs Canelo will get a bump cuz of how fun it was.
