Boxing needs canelo to win plain n simple.
Lol Canelo would never take on Jacobs or Charlo who are ranked in the top five at MW. His team already said they have no interest in someone like Monroe so I assume they'll avoid any slick boxers. He'll keep doing what he did at 154/155.

It's better for boxing if the best man wins, the ref does a good job and the scoring is fair if it goes 12 rounds. By your logic we should always want the younger, more popular boxer to win. If I am a big fan of a boxer I want him to win every fight until he retires. I don't want him to lose to a more popular, younger boxer supposedly for the good of boxing. I don't think boxing depends on a few very popular boxers. I think it depends on lots of good boxers and lots of good fights.Canelo took a loss to Mayweather and remained a star. He can lose to GGG and remain a star. GGG is popular now or he wouldn't be part of boxing's biggest fight between two boxers. If he beats Canelo I think his popularity will increase a lot. GGG fights far more often than Canelo and I think a GGG win would be just as good for boxing as a Canelo win. Canelo and GGG are tied as my favorite boxers so I'm not taking sides and I hope they both fight well and neither of them takes a humiliating loss that makes them look bad. A boxer can lose or get KOed and still put up a great fight and look good in defeat.

Canelo winning would only encourage more fighters to avoid good opposition for years. Their actions would end up justified and would only be bad for boxing. Think about it

Now he's all bulked up, slow and planning to enter the ring around 185 pounds like Jacobs did.

The problem for Candelita is that he's going to naturally gas in 3-4 rds tops NOT counting all the damage that GGG will inflict upon him. GGG by BRUTAL stoppage in 5-8!!! The jab will be landing early and often for GGG and this punch alone will begin to break the diva's will along with the face. The jab will inspire so much fear that GGG's left to the liver will land with ease. This will be a rough, rough meeting with reality for the diva, but I'll give ODLH credit as he HAS protected his investment as much as possible while increases his popularity.

This fight will end all of that now though....I doubt we'll see Candelita in another fight for at least a year after this loss.
What is a "Candelita?" Where is the "d" from?
