McGregor's fast and athletic, GGG and Canelo are slow.

If he had stamina he could probably avoid getting hit too much and get a nice check

But if he didn't have it at 29 in a huge fight against Mayweather I don't think he can find it now. He'd get mauled.

Seriously? Canelo and GGG hospitalize McGregor in one round. You have never seen Canelo if you think he is slow.

I think we have to begin with: what did we see that leads us to believe McConor could be competitive with any of today's prospects/contenders in the 54 or 60 divisions?
1. Quickness: Average
2. Power: Below average (far below average)
3. Accuracy: Average
4. Defense: Below average
5. Footwork: Average
5. Stamina: Below average (far below average)
6. Chin: Average
7. Heart: Below average

With that, only his chin and quickness is average, AT BEST, and everything else is below average. Personally, I would LOVE to see him get in the ring with a Charlo, Andrade, even a Tony Harrison, Frank Galarza et al. This McConor guy would get mowed down quick like. As for the 60 division? Please.....

McGregor did great but I can't see him winning any fights. He's entering boxing too late. I would say he was faster than Mayweather (before he got tired) but he also had no power or stamina. He deserves a lot of credit for taking on the best in another sport though.. Anyone who remembers Muhamad Ali's MMA fight, has to admit Conor's pro-boxing debut was a lot less embarrassing. Conor did well.

I don't understand why people are saying McGregor did great in the first 3 rounds? It was all part of the plan, mayweather always takes the first 3 rounds to test the waters and then he begins to pick his opponent apart. McGregor wasn't faster or better conditioned than Floyd. Floyd schooled him and I bet Floyd didn't even train properly for this fight. McGregor needs to stay in his low level sport and do what he does best, beat on wanna be club fighters. Peace

I'm absolutely shocked how people are praising McGregor. Mayweather looked absolutely terrible. Comparing how many rounds Canelo won to McGregor. If Mayweather fought Canelo how he did McGregor he would have got stopped. Simple as that.

Let me put it another way. Berto would have beaten Mayweather if he fought like that.

What the real talking point is how terrible Mayweather looked. And I know his been retired for 2 years and all of that.

Either Mayweather knew how little it would take to win and just got in to condition to go 12 rounds or his age has caught up to him.

As for McGregor in boxing except for maybe a Paulie, he'd have a record of all losses. All by knockouts too. Let me correct that by 'running out of stamina'. What did he work on in camp exactly. Fair enough not enough time to become a master boxer but to not even be able to go 12 rounds. What's he going to do fight 4 round fights.

It's a sad day in boxing when we are still talking about this "fight" as if it was a "match." You see, a match would have two combatants equally matched. What we saw was a mis-match. Everyone getting robbed by what could only be described as a circus. There are 3 incredible fights next weekend from 3 flyweights, and we are still talking about 2 clowns who traded more verbal bombs than fists.
FMJ was in control of that entire fight the minute he agreed to 8oz gloves.

It's a sad day in boxing when we are still talking about this "fight" as if it was a "match." You see, a match would have two combatants equally matched. What we saw was a mis-match.

As a retired matchmaker, I can tell you the vast majority of fights in boxing are "mismatches" (as I'm sure you all know). In other words, I was rarely asked to find a fighter for a promoter that is a 50/50 fight for his fighter. This is why we get so excited we do have those 50/50 fights (or variants thereof).

To that end, of course this was a mismatch. The boxing community stated such before/during/and after the event. For whatever reason, it's the McConor/MMA fans who seem delusional, and it's spawned by delusional talking heads.

Have you guys watched Skip Bayless? Good Lord. If I were Sulaimán, I would send a letter to Fox citing the borderline Slanderous comments Bayless has made. It's one thing to have an opinion, but another to make factually incorrect statements, especially those that can harm a person's reputation (the judges, Robert "Dirty" Bird, the WBC representatives, et al.) I'm from Dallas, and now remember why we threw his a$$ out of town back in the day. Wow.

I think the narrative to this fight is it played out just like the vast majority of the boxing world said it would and the MMA fans are recanting on all the rah-rah **** they came with prior to the fight.
