Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux's Coach Jabs Lomachenko: Donaire a Tougher Fight

Pedro Diaz, trainer of Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0, 11 KOs, 1 NC), is confident his boxer would hand Vasyl Lomachenko (9-1, 7 KOs) his second career defeat. There are ongoing discussions to finalize this contest for a date in December in New York City. Rigondeaux, who is the WBA world champion at 122-pounds, would move up by two weight divisions to face Lomachenko, the WBO super featherweight champion, at 130-pounds.

Rigo is the man, but idk about that. I think that 8lbs for a lil guy like Rigo to gain & maybe more importantly to deal with on the opposite side of the ring is gonna be a mfer for him. I think Loma is gonna have to f#ck up big to drop the W here. Love Rigo, I'd love to see him win, I'm rooting on him to win, but idk that he's gonna win.

Yep, and this is why its a really good fight, because there is so much uncertainty in this fight. Rigo is taking a big chance moving up and fighting a skilled fighter like Loma. Loma is taking a risk also, since he is supposed to be the P4P fighter that is better than Ali, Floyd, etc., and if he gets beat by a cat moving up 2 divisions, that won't look too good.

Arum is right, two 2-time gold medalists going in against each other is historic. I just hope the fight get finalized without Arum coming up with an excuse, because this is one of the fights (along with Brook/Spence) that I've been waiting for. 2017 is one of the best years in Boxing in quite some time!

Oddsmakers have already installed Lomachenko as a -400 favorite. Even they know this isn't a "50/50 fight" lol.

"From that moment they wanted to sell him like a boring, monotonous boxer, because no one expected the beating that he gave that night. The promoters lost some of their business, they lost a hen that laid the golden egg. With the support of a powerful promoter and with the right connections you can go far. A promoter can make champions, but also destroy a star, as they have done with Rigo,"
More BS that morons like to regurgitate. Donaire was never being groomed as a cash cow or the next star. He never put up the ratings they wanted and who could forget this infamous interview:

But it's a better fight than Miguel Marriaga, Jason Sosa and Roman Martinez, so let's see it. If Rigo gets blown out, so be it, then all the fans who dislike him will be happy. I just hope this fight gets finalized. Arum may be a little reluctant, after what happened to Donaire, his last P4P fighter that got matched up with Rigo.

Donaire who got Knocked Out cold by Walters? GTFO here!

Rigo & his coaching staff will be shocked if they continue to believe to all of these bs.

Yea not surprised. Although to be fair -400 is "close" for a boxing line as a guy who keeps up with the lines. Usually guys are fighting as a -1200 to -2000 favorite.

I think this fight is a no lose situation for Rigo & a no win situation for Loma with the weight difference. If Loma loses he lost & if he wins he beat a 37 year old guy who just moved up 2 divisions. The Rigo name will look good on Loma's resume, but it'll look like Gamboa's name on Crawford's resume since he wasn't at his best weight either. If Rigo wins he wins & if he loses he lost to a 2 divisions bigger & & damn near a decade younger guy.

It is what it is doe for Rigo. His career has been a overall failure despite his undefeated record & success due to not getting the big fights that coulda made him a HOFer & this might be his second & last big name he ever fights in his career so he's gotta take it.

I mean that might sound insane to some, but the expectations on Rigo's career have not been close to having been met.

I had Nonito winning the fight vs Rigo.....Boringdeaux didn't do anything till the final round.....Loma will make Boringdeaux quit.....boringdeaux will not go out on his shield...but may I add that this Diaz is already comparing the expectations of this fight to may vs mac so it sounds to me that Boringdeaux wants outrageousl amount of money already.....who knows, I just want this fight to happen....Loma via submission vs Boringdeaux is my prediction....ala walters

If this isn't a bad joke and you really had that fight for Nonito, you don't know how to score a boxing match, my friend. Not even trying to offend you. Merely stating a fact.
