Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Why Are BBC Shunning Britain's Own Talent?

Not so long ago we entered into dialogue with BBC Sport over the potential purchase of radio commentary rights for a night of boxing that surely demands the attention of our national broadcaster. It is a night with no shortage of British interest, with WBO world middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders making a defence against his mandatory challenger Willie Monroe jr and leading into probably the most highly anticipated fight of the decade between Gennady Golovkin and Saul Canelo' Alvarez with the winners of the two fights likely to face each other later in the year or early next.

Because there was demand for the Mayweather fight, Frank. No one gives a **** about Nicola Adams vs some bum or Billy Joe vs a fringe contender, and nor should they

Because lots of P°RN actresses in the U.K prefer the BBC. Ask Yarde, Eubank Jr. or Joshua

LOL is that really an article written by Frank Warren asking why the BBC isn't paying attention to his upcoming card?!?! Is there a reason they should be caring about BJS & the still young prospects he gots? I'd argue BJS has taken himself off the radar with his inactivity & the other people are rightfully not on the radar yet.

Wow the UK is still listening to live feeds through AM/FM radio? Its amazing how some of them find their way to boxingscene.

Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn and virtually everybody in the industry miss the bigger picture. It's all well and good showcasing Katie, Nicola and Clarissa to the general sporting public but they have to bear in mind that the paying public is mostly comprised of males. The main reason womens sport is in the position it's in is because women do not support their counterparts as much as males do.

Market these female Boxers to the female demographic. Ronda played the game. Put these female athletes on a media round. Breakfast shows, national radio interviews, regular newspaper contributions, photo shoots but targeted at women.
