Comments Thread For: Bivol Eyes November Return, Targets Badou Jack's WBA Title

Dmitry Bivol (11-0, 9 KOs) has burst onto the scene this year in the light heavyweight division and after blowing out Cedric Agnew in two rounds on the Andre Ward-Sergey Kovalev II pay-per-view undercard on June 17th, plans are being made to finish out his 2017 campaign.

This fight could happen next. Eleider Alvarez is forcing Adonis to fight him right now. Yvon Michel put on his twitter that both of his fighters will fight each other. Why not make Jack-Bivol meanwhile.

Bivol-Jack is the perfect fight for both right now to prove to fans and themselves where they really stand at 175. Dominating Cleverley and Agnew is a good sign for both of these guys, but neither Cleverley or Agnew are top light heavyweights. If Bivol can beat Jack, or Jack can beat Bivol, then they will have proved they are real contenders for the top level light heavyweights like Kovalev (if he ever gets his heart back in boxing and fixes his stamina, which seems unlikely), Beterbiev (if he ever gets active), and maybe Gvozdyk, but Gvozdyk is on the same level as Jack and Bivol where he needs to prove it. That's why Gvozdyk vs Barrera, and Jack vs Bivol, should be the fights that get made. However it sounds like Barrera will face Kovalev instead, and that's a useless fight to me because Barrera has no chance against prime Kovalev, so all that fight will really tell us is whether Kovalev trained or not.

Which I guess is good to know, but what if he knocks out Barrera in the 3rd round? That actually won't tell us anything about his stamina later on. Barrera does look durable, though.

I'd just rather see Barrera vs Gvozdyk, and Jack vs Bivol. But that's just me.

I've only seen Bivol twice, in destructions of limited and/or unwilling opponents (Clarkson and Agnew). Powerful, offensive fighters always look impressive against weaker opposition. Its hard to gauge what other skills or limitations they may possess. Jack has continued to look better each time he has fought since his loss to Derrick Edwards. My initial thought is that Bivol overpowers and stops Jack but if the Ripper can survive the offensive onslaught of Bivol, he may be able to take it. I still say Bivol but I've been wrong before.

I think Bivol beats Jack, not Shure Jack will take/wants this fight, or should I say Mayweather.

Definitely think Bivol will hurt Jack
                Not convinced about Jack
Not a hard puncher and defense is out the window
He fought Cleverly who I thought was done three fights ago
Cleverly didn't throw much and made Jack look great
I still think Stevenson vs Jack gets made and that way will force Ward to eventually fight Stevenson

Jack could win. He's smaller but he's acclimated to the pro game, Bivol isn't. Bivol's good but he's green Jack should catch him now.
