Quality matters, it is a huge stretch to say GGG has fought more than two B level fighters. He's fought zero A level fighters.

That's the intrigue of this fight. If GGG had been smashing the same fighters say that Ward had smashed at 168 you'd have a point, but he's been dominating weak weak opposition. But here's the thing also, GGG's skill is what is impressive, it shows through even against bums, he's a great boxer.Canelo has been in deeper waters than GG before, we know that, will that be enough to overcome GGG's skill and size? We'll see. Canelo also has the youth and hand speed advantages.
So name those 5 or 6 guys that Canelo has been in with, that are supposedly so great.
Also they would have to be younger than GGG, meaning no older than 35. They would have to have fought in the same weight class recently, and they must not have come off a 15 month or longer lay-off.
I think those are valid objections for them to be called A level fighters, don't you?

Lol...this thread was started just to argue about GGG. You GGG haters must really like this guy deep down. Until Canelo agreed to fight GGG, the boxers I hated most were him and Amir Khan, yet I have created no threads to talk about them.

With the exception of Mayweather, Canelo's resume is the same as GGG's. His best wins are a washed up Cotto, an arguable loss to Lara who's never beaten anybody and Trout who beat a wash up Cotto. GGG's is actually better by comparison. I consider Jacobs a much tougher fight than Lara given his size.

GGG fans are in for a hellish awakening when he steps in the ring with young Canelo, who unlike him is a proven elite fighter who has actually fought and tested himself against legends like Mayweather, Cotto, Mosley, Trout, and Lara.

Yes, boxers like Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigondeaux are great P4P legends. However, P4P rankings of an opponent is irrelevant if the opponent is much lighter.

You do realize that the version of Kell Brook that GGG brutalized was arguably better (in his prime and unbeaten) than the version of Miguel Cotto Canelo Alvarez fought (Cotto was old, out of his prime and beaten many times before)? Yet, for all of Canelo's impressiveness, he failed to even come closing to knocking out Cotto. On the other hand, for all of GGG's good accomplishments coming against poor opposition, GGG destroyed Kell Brook, which Canelo couldn't do the same to Cotto.

It's simple! Canelo Alvarez fights top quality opposition who are MUCH lighter than himself. Irrespective of how high they are ranked in the P4P rankings. On the other hand, GGG fights top quality opposition that are usually his own weight or heavier, irrespective of how low they are ranked in the P4P rankings. Canelo Alvarez can beat Roman Gonzalez tomorrow. Would that make that win more impressive than GGG knocking out a top middleweight that is his own size (like David Lemeiux), even though Roman Gonzalez is ranked higher P4P? Absolutely not!

Top ranked P4P opponents are irrelevant if they are much lighter. Canelo Alvarez fighting a top ranked P4P fighter who is much lighter isn't that impressive. However, him fighting a top ranked fighter his own weight (like Lemeiux or Daniel Jacobs) is more impressive, even if those guys are lower ranked in the P4P rankings compared to some of the lighter boxers.

Both answered the challenge and both were either flatly refused or met with impossible circumstances and one would be head and shoulders above any g string has fought (Ward) and the other would be at least his 2nd best opponent. As noted, take away Jacobs and the rest of g strings opposition is hot garbage. You having g strings semen on your breathe and his palm prints on your a$$ won't change that.
