    French world featherweight champion Angelique Duchemin has died after suffering a heart problem in training for an upcoming defense of her title. Duchemin, who held the World Boxing Federation (WBF) female featherweight title, suffered a cardiac arrest during a training session on Monday evening at her hometown gym in Thuir, southern France.

      R.I.P.. Very beautiful lady. I pray for her family. Hate reading stuff like this. People don't understand what Boxers put their body through just to make weight and perform at a high level. If they did they'd have more respect for the sport.

              The article said cause of death was a pulmonary embolism leading to the cardiac arrest. Unlikely a cardiac screening would have picked that up. She might have had a leg injury at one point causing a deep vein thrombosis which lead to the Pulmonary embolism. No way to predict or prevent that sort of thing especially in an otherwise healthy young individual. Very sad and unfortunate loss.

                Bloody hell.May she rest in peace.Training her arse off to go and fight in what would of been an empty arena with only a few unappreciative fans watching,ungrateful mother****ers.

                Some of the fans of the sport nowadays proper plss me off.No respect whatsoever

                  So sad for a young girl with great potential Unfortunately they do no forms of heart or cardiac testing during training only when if they're within certain organizations 7:10 and 30-day monitoring in preparations for a title bout...
