McGregor is caught in no man's land if he wants to box. At 29, he doesn't have time to work his way up, and now that he's tasted Mayweather money and has some leverage to negotiate with the UFC, it's unlikely he'd take a series of fights with journeymen that will never come close to maximizing his earnings.

But if you put McGregor in 12 round fights with top fighters, especially those who are in their primes and naturally bigger and stronger than Floyd, there is a very good chance that he'll take the type of punishment that will jeopardize his health.

Hate to say it but he is right.
What if he got that tired against someone younger, stronger and more heavy handed than floyd. And just left himself open to taking punishment to the head. He could have been seriously injuried. Truth is people die in the boxing ring or right after a bout every year. Not a lot of fighters but enough to take precaution when a fighter fails to protect himself
