    In sparring, there's nothing on the line. It's easy to 'quit' after being hurt.

    When the lights are on and the money is on the line, everything changes.

      It's like when a guy tells you that a fight "didn't finish". What he means is I took a beating and didn't get to fight back.

        He's right. it doesn't. No matter how hard they were going, they are both different fighters now. Canelo is a much better fighter than he was 5/6 years ago.

            GOLOVKIN'S AN IDIOT ALRIGHT ! He's fought much bigger and much more powerful opponents then Canelo. I believe Golovkin will win this and it won't be his hardest fight. That being said I'm excited about this fight because it's two really good fighters fighting each other. There can be a case made for either fighter winning this and I'll gladly pay my money to see it where I didn't even bother staying up for the Mayweather fiasco. Going to be a great fight!

                Exactly!

                Sparring = Practice

                  Canelo is right, it was too long ago and they both have grown since then.

                  I support GGG and hope he's going to win, but intuitively feel that he might lose. If it gets to points - most likely it will be given to Canelo (I would even attribute this to the political climate in the US right now, believe it or not). Another possibility is a TKO via a cut or something. Don't see GGG being knocked out.

                  While I think the age starts to catch up with him and Canelo did duck him back then because GGG really looked invincible, there should be no excuses, if GGG loses a fair fight. He and his team must be realistic in assessing GGG and his opponent. If they take it - then they think they have what it takes to beat Canelo. Canelo is in his prime, GGG is on decline and on that level every "inch" of skill and performance matter. Oscar picked the right time for Canelo. Less so for GGG. At least GGG will earn enough not to ever fight again.

                  P.S. The fact GGG goes to the ring first is a disgrace.

                    Once GGG walks through Canelo punches, the fight wouldn't go the distance.

                      Froch' perception of groves was largely based on them sparring together and he nearly paid the price for that.

                      Sparring is just sparring, unless you're staring across the ring at Yildirim.
