    castillo screwed up bigtime

article fron fghtnws...new NSAC director keith kizer is currently deciding if sanctions are forthcoming and castillo could be fined $250,000 by the nevada commision plus be suspended and have his boxing license revoked.castillos promoter arum put his losses at $1million and gary shaw put his losses in the hundreds of thousands.in addition showtime had significant penalties written into castillos contract, should he not make weight.

man castillo fckd up.better than mayorga or tyson.

I agree completely. I was talking to my brother during the show and we agreed this was the lowest act we may have ever seen in boxing. This is pure cowardice and attempted cover up. I'd have more respect for Castillo if he bit Chico's ear off or punched him in the face after Corrales KO'ed him again, but not this. Not refusing to fight and making it look like it wasn't his fault. This is bull**** at the highest level.

      something is hella wrong here,

the WBC claims they told NSAC and Arum he wasnt going to make weight. But Arum and the NSAC say thats not true and that the WBC told them he was gonna make it. Since both of the NSAC and Arum were relying on the WBC reports to make sure he was making weight wouldnt it only be logical that they sue the WBC if that is true? Afterall the WBC would have more money and just as much if not more responsibily than castillo regarding the weight issue and their pursuit to keep marketing and promoting the fight.

can you please explain exactly how the WBC could possibly have as much, let alone more, responsibility in Castillo making weight than Castillo himself? This is going to be at least as funny as any traveling salesman joke.

if it was the responsability of the wbc to check up on castillo, then part of the blame is to be spread to the wbc

you make a good point but castillo was down to 139 thursday so it appeared to everyone he was going to make weight. i can't believe he's so dumb he couldn't see these fines and sanctions and lawsuits coming if he didn't make weight.its hard for me to think that castillo chickened out because he'd be having to fight corrales on an even playing field.and this the second time.
this is bad for boxing.bet they start monitoring boxers like cotto and hatton more closely for the wide swing in weights.more rule changes ahead.boxing needs it.maybe guys that walk around at jr middleweight shouldn't be allowed to fight at lt weight.
