  • Showtime issuing Mass Refunds for mgregor PPV debacle?

Looks like Showtime just buckled. Anyone who hasn't followed the saga basically Showtime and UFC advertised and sold PPVs for the mcgregor fight for cord cutters. But there were major problems with folks buying and not able to watch. Showtime had major outages and the entire UFC.tv app crashed at 9pm when the PPV started with NOBODY who ordered it able to watch the undercard or main event. Thousands maybe millions have been screaming for refunds. UFC flat out refused to even release a statement and hasn't responded to emails. A class act lawsuit was filled against Showtime yesterday and the same lawyers have been asking folks who bought the fight on UFC.tv and other platforms to come forward because a class act suit directly at UFC is coming this week.

Finally in the last few mins

They are responding and tweeting back almost every person tweeting on the UFC twitter accounts. Class act lawsuit and fans screaming about boycotting UFC future events has had impact. Funny how the UFC still refuses to release a statement or respond on twitter. Mass refunds are better then the legal fees and settlement payout in the long run.

I don't understand the UFC's stance. I bought a product from you. You didn't deliver the product. Refund my money. Thank you.

they some scum bag crooks. This is doing so much damage to their brand. Look at the tweets from their twitter trying to advertise upcoming UFC event.

literally hundreds of tweets like this at the UFC and Dana White flat out in hiding on twitter. It's such a bad look. Showtime atleast released a statement and appears to now be willing to collect info for inevitable refunds. UFC, Dana White...nothing. Such a bad look.

it's going to take a long time to count up all the PPVs from so many different vendors that sold it. Probably weeks before you get real numbers but mark my words they will release the numbers BEFORE and not factor in the hundreds of thousands if not millions of PPVs that will be deducted because of refunds or part of the Class Act lawsuit if they don't refund.

They just lost money to 3+ million illegal viewers and now have to refund more money.

This fight didn't do as big as people expected.

Lmfao, what about poor ole Floyd's kids ? Shyt man Conor has kids too right ?

This stuff is hilarious, I guess it won't be the highest grossing fight ever now. Never mind, Conor will have to come back and get beaten up again by Paulie this time.

                  This is bound to happen.
There's not even a test run available that would emulate people watching the fight at the same time in mass numbers.
That's why Arum better be careful offering something that is untested.
These techie guys would promise anything and make millions of dollars.
These are the people that should be sued, if you ask me.
Or at least demand some type of insurance, if they fail to deliver.
There have been cases like this like *****'s health care when it was first launched.
Somehow, people just don't learn from the past.
