  • Cotto kamegai ratings?

Any news on what the viewership ratings were? Curious to know how he did going up against the ppv.

Cotto fight drew 730K viewers. Pretty amazing numbers head to head with Floyd PPV. It was also a sellout in tickets sold

Yup a lot of folks were saying that nobody would show up or watch. For comparison I think only broner vs Garcia did higher ratings on showtime then this for 2017. Loma last fight on ESPN drew 728K just a few weeks ago.

            Cool, good to hear.

I predicted anywhere between 600,000 to 800,0000 was hoping for at least 1 million or so.

But 730,000 is not bad considering the PPV that was on.

And yeah, I read also that it was a sellout crowd for tickets sold.

When it comes down to it, Cotto been around a while, and although he lacks a personality, his matches are always entertaining, and that is what will bring the viewers. horrible date for the fight. i wonder what it would have pulled in on a different date.

It definitely would have had way higher ratings if it were on a different date.

The Cotto-Kamegai fight was also a sold out crowd. So besides people saying they wouldn't watch or buy tickets to the fight, it ended up with 730k viewers and sold out at the Stub Hub.

Cotto is still clearly one of the biggest draws in all of boxing if no PPV probably does 1m views. compare that to all ESPN coverage and on basic cable Crawford couldn't do 1m viewers. And Cotto just did more then Lomachenko vs Marriaga on ESPN did head to head with maybe the biggest ppv of alltime.

They were wrong a lot of people boycotted the ppv, or watched this instead of the ppv undercard fights and watched both.
