Some people don't have a clue as to when a fighter is hurt. Mayweather was never hurt at anytime during the fight. Many McGregor fans are claiming mayweather was hurt at the start of the ninth round. If people look closely, McGregor hit Mayweather with a borderline, but fair body shot. Mayweather tried to sell it as a low blow but the referee didn't fall for it. Now if a fighter is truly hurt don't you think he would be in full retreat for remainder of the round? On the contrary, Mayweather pressed McGregor by coming forward and unleashing straight right hands and left hooks for the better part of round 9. I also believe this is where McGregor realized he was in a bad place. like a fish out of the water. Mayweather would go on to pound McGregor for the next couple of minutes before the referee stepped in and rescued Coner from suffering further damage.

Your argument has a major leak on aisle 9. The ref broke them apart right when McGregor was trying to follow up on the body shot. Skrooed up McGregor's momentum. Don't believe it, doesn't matter to me. But it's what happened. Floydie did deserve the win, but round 9 could've changed the whole fight if the action was allowed to proceed as it was headed toward.

I was getting ready to disagree with Paulie but I can't. He stopped throwing and was in full retreat. No boxing referee in his right mind would let that go on.

McGregor didn't have an answer and didn't want to continue. He tried to save face by saying he needed to go out on his shield but his body language said otherwise. His body language said, "No mas!"

He could have easily took a knee like most quitters do or went down on purpose after getting hit flush. He didnt, he was dead tired and was a sitting duck but refused to go down.
