I think that was just a selling/ talking point. I don't think Floyd cared about the manny fight or the fans reaction to it. Conor fought to win, unlike Manny, so the fight was better. Floyd fought Conor differently than he did Manny, so he got hit more and lost more rounds, which gave the fight some drama for most fans.
