Mayweather beat the best for 20 years. He's allowed 1 "gimme" fight especially when millions and millions of people were calling for it. Love him or hate him - He's the smartest, most skillful, most dominant boxer of all time. 50-0 and only 2 close fights across 5 weight classes, 26 world champions, how can people not respect that? It could be another 20-30 years until we see someone comparable.

What I'm mad about was giving any opportunity for boxing to become a joke. At age 40 with two years out of the ring, anything could've happened. He might have been completely unable to pull the trigger against anyone on the night. Where would that have left the sport.

It is easy for me to "preach" about integrity because nobody has offered me 9 figures for an easy night's work. Given the offer, I can't say I would've turned it down.
