I said Conor wouldn't win a single minute of a single round. I said he would be gassed by the second or third, and KTFO shortly afterwards.

You can hate on him all you want, you can come up with all the excuses you want, Floyd was too old, too small, too rusty. I knew all those things about Floyd going into the fight and still predicted it would be ridiculously lopsided. I was wrong.

Anyone being objective will see it is a great effort. If you can't give props where they are due, then you probably can't make any decent contributions to the discussion.

All things considered I believe Conor did better than 99.9% of anyone from any sport getting into boxing vs the best fighter of the last era. I mean ffs the Showtime scorer had it 5-4 Floyd going into the round Floyd stopped Conor in. Thats mfing crazy cuz I think there are 4 rounds you can legit suggest Conor won.

Meanwhile people were saying Conor wouldn't win one minute of one round. The guy over performed like him or not, you being petty about it or not. Even Floyd was respectful & said he was surprised with what Conor was capable of.

The guy failed, but failed doing something most cats would be too ***** to try & put in an honest attempt with his effort. I'll never hate on that & if I do I hope someone calls me on that sh^t so I can admit I'm wrong.
      Well said.

Props for getting laughed at, walked down, and stopped by a smaller 40 year old Mayweather who's been out of the ring for 2 years. I obviously knew it was a mismatch, but I was still disappointed with how bad McGregor was.

I really don't give Conor much respect at all for his performance. He tried but this was Mayweather's easiest fight of his career. It was supposed to be easy, Conor isn't a boxer, etc. etc.

It's a bit hypocritical to give him respect for just showing up because everyone said he literally wouldn't do anything at all which created that expectation.

Let me explain it using this analogy:

Let's say Lionel Messi was scheduled to play a game of 1 on 1 against Michael Jordan.

Every analyst said for weeks that it was a terrible mismatch and Messi wouldn't even score a single point.

So when the game was finally played MJ gives Messi the ball and lets him score his first 2 points, and then decides to start playing and shuts him out.

The end score is 2-21. Messi was shut out, dominated, and never had a chance... But at least he got those 2 points MJ let him score.

Sure Messi could claim that he did so much better than people expected... but he still never had a chance and MJ let him score his only baskets.

So in that hypothetical situation would Messi really deserve any basketball respect because he managed to score 2 points on Michael Jordan?

              I'd say nope.

Of coarse I never expected him to win, before or during the fight. But he gave a good accounting of himself.

                    I was impressed.

                    Props to Conor!!
