In this case I agree that the ref could have allowed it to continue, but you should understand the position the ref is in. People have died taking punishment while standing up.

Because that's exactly what would have happened if the fight would have continued. The guy refused to go to sleep, he stayed on his feet like a ****ing ****** despite suffering from severe concussion (lack of coordination), completely defenceless against the ropes waiting for that final blow to take his life.

I'm ok if a guy like Ali gets bullied in the ropes, i know he has a good chin and he gives clear signs that he is still alive. But let's be serious, Mcgregor looked like a ****ing zombie at the end and it was his first pro boxing fight anyway, that was already way too brutal for him.

He had nothing left gas tank wise, was being caught clean, backing up and not throwing back...He had succumb. No need in wanting to see him go down to confirm anything, it was conclusive enough as it was.

        Magomed Abdusalamov.

The list goes on and on.

McGregor was eating FLUSH shots for a straight minute. That's dangerous.

        It was an appropriate stoppage.
        this, this, and this

        Good stoppage

Post-fight, Conor says, 'I feel like I've just been involved in a match, not a fight' ...exactly right, boxing is a sport albeit a very serious one. The man was beaten, no need to make a man a vegetable

Initially I thought the fight was stopped too early. When they showed the replay, I changed my mind. McGregor was done. Any further action would've put his health at serious risk. Way too many examples of fighters who are irreparably damaged because they took one too many punches. The ref made the right call here.

Unless one is leaning on the ropes unconcious or taking extreme punishment, the referee should let the fight finish like it's supposed too.

Those early stoppage feel like fcking and have to pull the diikk out when you are about to come.

Let the KO happen, let the man hit the fcking canvas.
Tell that to this guy ---

Now MMA fans will not only say a boxing novice fought an ATG on even terms before gassing out, but they'll also say he finished the fight on his feet without getting knocked down.
He was defenseless and if he was seriously hurt it would not have gone down well, Connor was out on his feet and not punching back after a minute of getting belted, ref had no choice Connor should have thrown a punch back and it would not have been stopped, it was one punch from a Ricky Hatton stoppage, just spent and nothing left.

And look how big Connor was are these fools for real.
