Nathan Cleverly has retired from boxing. The Welshman, who is a two-time world champion, revealed his decision on Sunday (August 27) after being stopped in Las Vegas. Clev', 30, lost his WBA regular' light-heavyweight world title at the T-Mobile Arena against ex-WBC super-middleweight king Badou Jack, as part of the undercard to Floyd Mayweather's 50th and final ring appearance against Conor McGregor.

I think that's a good move for him. He's slowed down a lot.
He's definitely lost something over the last few years, he pressures but doesn't throw as much (except the Fonfara fight) he just sits in a dangerous position in the pocket.

He's been in a lot of wars and has relied on his chin a lot down the years. 4 of his last 5 fights have been against Jack, Braehmer, Fonfara and Bellew, so it looked like a choice of dropping down a level or retirement.

Fair play to him, he would of dreamed of being a World Champ as a kid and he can say he's done that.

If he doesn't need the money he's made the right decision. He's a very good boxer who Warren managed to nab a title for., so he's been fighting at a level that's only going to get him beaten up.

To say he's lost a step is an understatement....he used to have great stamina, throw punches in bunches and overwhelm his opponents....To get retired by a guy who isn't a big ****er in his LHW debut speaks volumes.

Good.... that performance was an embarrassment.... truly one of the worst performances I've ever seen. He has all the tools, the physical advantages.... yet he fought like a complete ******.

The guy has guts, but that's all. From a strictly pugilistic point of view, he's always been a nobody.

Respect to Cleverly. Very respectable career.

And I love when guys get out early after they've made some money, but "lost it" a lil bit perhaps. No reason to stay in boxing too long. Always better to get out too early, then too late. Good luck to the brother whatever he does post-boxing.
