It was but I also have no doubt the ref didn't see it. Look where he was, no angle to see the punch. He basically reacted to Floyd. He doesn't even love in until Floyd is visible in pain. In the end good call so it works out.

      That's within the belt line.

See that black width line. That's where Conor landed. It's within the belt line. NOT below.

As was explained a million times in the Ward fight. Any part of the glove that hits below the belt line is a low blow. That means if part of the glove hits on the belt and part hits below the belt it is a low blow. You simply can't have any part of the glove hit below the belt. Just because you hit part of the belt doesn't make it legal.

I also don't think Conor was embarrassed. He did much better than I expected. All said in the end the result was what anybody with a clue expected, an MMA fighter wasn't going to beat a great, good or probably even a decent boxer.
Since about 2008 the UFC have been telling everyone they are taking over boxing and for a while it seemed like they were on the up and boxing was going down. There was also all this talk of how a boxer would do against an MMA fighter and how that would turn out. Floyd totally shut down the UFC because once he came back around 2009 their ratings and PPV's took a hit and a lot of the interest shifted back to boxing because he was back. Dana White was even going as far as saying Ronda Rousey would beat Floyd, among other people no one cares about anymore. So Floyd took his biggest star and best fighter and put a beating on him. Genius move, he totally owned their Golden Boy and had the last and loudest laugh!

He did better than I expected too, but just because we expected it doesn't mean it wasn't embarrassing. Conor was built up by the UFC to be the best fighter in the world and he was reduced to landing almost nothing and getting hit at will over and over. In all honesty Floyd let him win those early rounds and the way it went and ended would've been embarrassing/humiliating for anyone to have to experience.

I'm not a UFC guy but this fight will absolutely mean nothing to future PPV successes of boxing or MMA. I think the story will continue to be, if Floyd was in an MMA octagon he'd get destroyed. I don't think they are wrong.

I do hope the ******ity that these sports can have interchangeable fighters stops.

This fight's not gonna impact future UFC PPV's, I was just trying to explain that Floyd had some history with the UFC and in the end he "won" and so did boxing. Floyd showed how much smarter and more skilled boxers are.

That's the good thing that's gonna come out of this. MMA guys will stop disrespecting the sport and I doubt any more of them will try it.

They follow the belt line rule. They say it before the bout. hey speak it and follow it. "Anything that is below that belt is foul"

That was certainly in the realm of within the belt line.

                      lol are you blind??

                      It's inside the beltline.

Here is a freeze shot of the gloves hitting within the belt line.
