With 1 Year Training Does Floyd Beat Conor At MMA Too?

He'd need to perfect kicking technique and learn some basic ground game because Conor's ground game is very low level as it is, he wins his MMA fights through striking.

If we gave Floyd a year to train MMA, does he beat Conor at his own game too? It'll never happen of course so a purely hypothetical.

Bear in mind Conor said he knew the Mayweather fight was going to happen over a year ago so he was working on his boxing for over a year.

With 5 years mma training Floyd is still bodybagged by any UFC top 5 guy from 145-155

I think if Conor had 1 year of boxing training he may have beaten Floyd.

Obviously a troll thread but no.

MMA fighters already "know" their own version of boxing and it's still a huge mountain to climb to adjust it for pro boxing rules and 12 rounders.

For a boxer to learn, completely from scratch, wrestling, grappling, and how not to have their shin kicked in clean half while ALSO modifying their boxing style, is mount everest.

floyd would have a head start as far as muay thai elbows go though...

            No of course not.

The only way he would have any chance at all lasting a while would be to do what Holly Holm did to Rhonda Rousey and keep it standing up as much as possible but then she still has experience in kicks from kickboxing.

In reality, of course not. It's 2 different games, Conor found out the hard way tonight and Floyd would find out the same.

Lol Conor was outboxing Floyd. He just lacked experience of managing energy in a 12 round boxing match or just the exp. Period.

He was landing combos, countering and made floyd miss.

No way haha. Floyd just had a look at Conor for 2 rounds and dominated the rest of it.

I actually thought Floyd looked every bit the 40 year old in there too.

No, Mcgregors ground game isn't 'very low level' and standing up there would be Muay Thai clinches, leg kicks, spinning backfists.
