This is a good deal for Bob Arum, but will it be good for Loma and Crawford?

If you read between the lines of the write up (particularly the uptick of 20 percent in viewership for FS1) one could deduct this Top Rank deal is a reaction to a looming FS1 deal with PBC. Seems like the conclusion of the UFC negotiations will determine the final number for PBC.

FS1 has been building viewership across its platform since the addition of Colin, Skip, PBC, and the Big3. They've had a good year in terms of growth.
Honestly after finally watching the station this week, I'm going to watch the channel more. I thought their coverage was better than ESPN's

Now Mikey is managed by Haymon, but like Khan (and a few others) he's capable of fighting where he wants. But I have a feeling he's going to get a big check from the Haymon camp after the dust settles on these content deals. He's the most valuable "budding" star in boxing because of his ethnicity and ability.
I've had a theory about Crawford starting a fued with Top Rank for a while lol but after his latest rant they might start catering to him more. We'll have to see about that. He's currently unhappy, but with ESPN aligned with him, we might start seeing some endorsements come his way soon. That would shut him up lol

However, I do think there will be a significant boost in FS1's ratings in the coming weeks when the Big Ten/FOX deal starts in with college football.
The Big Ten is a big get for FOX/FS1.
There's also a new morning show they're rolling out in September.
With that said, FS2 still lags in some markets.Last edited by Mitchell Kane; 08-27-2017, 12:28 PM.

Not just because people are cutting the cable cord, but because they don't have much content on the sports end and for coverage.
With all of the major sports having their own network, there is no need for sports fans to go to ESPN for highlights and analysis when they get it 24/7 on those networks. This opens the door for boxing to get some spots on ESPN and then have more exclusive coverage of the sport on it.
The takeaway is that Stephen A. is getting involved and he is one of the reasons why folks are dropping the network.
