I wouldn't mind seeing Kovalev vs Stevenson or Badao Jack if he wins tonight.

Plus Don King is not Kovalev´s promoter to get him an immediate WBC World title fight. Main Events don't have such good connections with the WBC.

Bummed to hear this. Boxing is strange in that, if a guy can't be #1 in his weight class, he might retire.
It seems like Sergey was getting burned by his management so I doubt he even has that much put away. Should sign with someone who pays their fighters and take a few more fights.

Isn't Kovalev #1 for the WBO?

Disappointed to hear that from Sergey. Don't know what happened to him, but I think it could be some personal issues more so than his losses to Ward. It's not yet official, so I will wait to pass judgement, but I wonder if there is something Kovalev is not telling the world.

The problem with Stevenson is that he has already a mandatory Eleider Alvarez. Gvozdyk is ranked #2. So it will take Kovalev 3 fights and then he is already past his prime with 36.

Maybe he's depressed because now everyone knows his balls are on his navel?

I was rooting for kovalev and was really salty after he lost. But damn, ward took his soul.

Indeed but I can't see Ward vs Kovalev III. Ward will most likely face winner of Cleverly vs Jack or Gvozdyk or Bivol next at the end of this year.

If Cleverly wins tonight then Ward should fight him in the UK. Perfect build up to a potential Bellew or Joshua bout. Cleverly is also with Matchroom.
