LMFAOOO y'all are so cruel, but Ward is the pound for pound boxer for no reason!

Kov gave Ward all he could handle and he proved himself to be on a close level!

Guys like Kov is needed in boxing as he took the tough fights with barely any money and virtually all on the road!

He gave Ward credit and is being honest and yet gets crapped on!

Floyd is right, fans can't fight for you so do it for yourself!

In military strategy, you can have the weaker army, but if you have spies that tell you your opponent's every move, and you know the perfect time to strike, you can still win. Team Ward had that in JDJ and it helped them overcome having the inferior boxer, to some extent. Kovalev had the superior force, so to speak, but he was not only fighting in foreign territory, he was training in foreign territory, so he didn't have the **** helping him that Ward did.

However, half-retired Kovalev was still good enough to beat Ward in the first fight, and make Ward consider retirement, if not for the rematch clause. So I cant wait to see more posters expose themselves as Ward fanboys with zero knowledge when they say "Ward retired Kovalev." In fact half-retired Kovalev is the one who retired Ward first... the rematch clause forced Ward back, then Tony Weeks saved him in the rematch as he was gassing and couldn't get Kovalev out of there even with all the low blows. Now that was helped to get past the Kovalev obstacle, he may stay around longer to cash out against a C-level guy like Bellew or another past prime opponent in Adonis Stevenson. That doesnt change the fact Kovalev had him talking retirement long before this, which doesn't even sound like it has to do with Ward, but rather with religion, family, and Kovalev's shifting priorities, which existed and Ward clearly knew about long before they fought. So stop fanboying and trying to give Ward credit for it lol. Man you guys will try anything, no matter how dishonest, to paint your idols in a good light and compensate for their lack of elite performances in the actual ring.
As soon as I read your 1st sentence, it sounded like a WEAK a** excuse. (Stopped reading after that....)

Ward has mentally ruined Kovalev. He still has some plenty of good match ups at 175. He can fight Beterviev, Barrera and Badou Jack in 2018.

EXACTLY!!! Losing to the @1 P4Per is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact he gave Ward his toughest fight EVER!

I still rank Kov. P4P top #10. And #2 LHW. #3 at worst.

Kovalev retiring now would be along those lines. Too soon to retire. And no, Ward didn't take his soul. That's pure b.s.

He could make a few million over the next half dozen or so fights, going against elites or near elites. There's Stevenson, Cleverly rematch, Braehmer, Joe Smith Jr., Barrera, maybe even Beterbiev. And he would win all or most of them. Remove the Ward b.s. from the mind and move on. That's yesterday's b.s.
1st he needs to get rid of Duva and that SHT of only getting % of the fight and $0 guarantee.

Then he needs a REAL trainer and actually LISTEN to him. Emmanuel Steward would be PERFECT for him if he was still alive. Tall good, great long jab...

                    ???

IMO Ward should be 1-1 against him. And the ref. suked donkey dics and stopped the fight too soon. Robbed Ward of a good win, real win.

You make some good points. I doubt he'll ever get roped into another Diva Ward type fight contract again, but yes he does need to listen better to whoever the (quality) trainer is.
