Comments Thread For: Saunders: I Hope Golovkin Drills Canelo - And Then I Upset GGG!

WBO world middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders has been training hard for his September 16th title defense against American Willie Monroe Jr. He's enjoying a new lease of life under Dominic Ingle in Sheffield and has looked excellent in preparations. Speaking to ATG Radio the Champion is positive about his camp so far: "Everything is falling into the plan perfectly, I'm feeling fitter and stronger than ever. No excuses."

Question is: Is Saunders any good at all or just a weak soft Brit?

Let's see what Monroe does against big talking little action Saunders. Maybe Saunders is a good boxer who the hell knows as BJ hasn't ever fought one credible opponent-EVER.

I consider Monroe a B+ fighter and I think he can take Saunders to the distance, but BJS does not impress me Triple G or Alvarez would both stop him...

Is Eubank Jr not a credible opponent? Andy Lee?

BJS' career has stalled a fair bit over the last 18 months or so but on form he is a match for any middleweight. fantastic Boxer and an even better talker, time to start backing it up though!

Yea Eubie and Andy Lee are good opponents. Let's see how Monroe does? Even a Lemieux or Jacobs bout would be a good measuring stick.

to be fair, you can only judge a fighter on his last fight and BJS last fight was embarrassing for a world champion. I'm intrigued to see how he does against Monroe after being inactive at even that level for so long. Going with his last fight, both Lemieux and Jacobs would murder Saunders but i know he is so much better than he has demonstrated recently. I'd say an in shape BJS at the top of his game outboxes Lemieux and has a very close up and down battle with Jacobs. We'll see where he's at soon enough

This is how ****** Saunders is. Doesn't he realize he would make DOUBLE if not triple the $$$$ fighting Canelo then GGG???
