  • Comments Thread For: Forget Betting on Himself, Conor McGregor Already Hit the Lottery

By Keith Idec - LAS VEGAS Inside a building full of tempting table games, Conor McGregor wasn't about to tip his hand. A reporter put the UFC superstar on the spot Wednesday by asking him if he would bet on himself against Floyd Mayweather Jr. And if so, the reporter probed, how much? The question was perfectly appropriate...

Yeah even though Dana white is taking a bigger cut from his pay (According to rumours), Conor would still be making a lot of money. That is great for him.

Not even a UFC fan and I think it's great how this guy basically baited the shiiii outta Floydie and piggybacked on his azz to cash in one of the top 10 biggest lotto wins ever. Only thing bad... it never should’ve been sanctioned as more than an exhibition by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. And you can bet Floydie made that part of the demands for the contract to be signed. Other than that, it will be fun to see McGregor come out guns blazing, trying to take Floydie's head off. I just wanna see the geezer get batted around a bit, maybe even dropped. From there, anything else is just icing on the cake, win or lose. If McGregor KOs Floydie, it's the biggest ever story in boxing, outside of maybe Douglas/Tyson. And if Floydie does his usual grab n hold pitty pat routine we've all come to expect, that's just a sleeping pill for the fans to get a good snooze with.

          LOL!!

Floyd is supposed to ended up making $200m+ on the fight, and is supposedly betting $5m on himself. Even if Conor were to bet on himself, it wouldn't be for any monster amount of money.

What sports book on the planet is going to take the risk of maybe paying out three times Conor's purse? lol

What sports book is going to take a $5m bet on Floyd (payout of $1m for a Floyd win) for that matter?

Kinda hard to bait a guy who may end up making $300m on the fight he's "being set up for", lol

It's hard to know what this article is insinuating...

I mean, we all know McGregor is getting paid beautifully, unless of course the crazy unexpected comes and he does something illegal to DQ himself which affects the legal bind...

How does a DQ affect the bookies?

However, Conor can bet against himself also and therefore the title for this thread!?!

How is this some kind of genius move by McGregor? The fight didn't make any traction until Mayweather said ok, let's do it. If McGregor is smart for getting Mayweather to fight him, what does it say about Mayweather for getting the bigger cut of the profit fighting a much easier fight than if he faced someone like Golovkin to make that kind of money.

Praising McGregor for this is like praising someone for house sitting a mansion for a few days.
