Yes, Cotto was from Puerto Rico and he had them on his back but Crawford is American and Puerto Rico is a very small place compared to America. Loma is white and he has skills, shouldn't he have a bigger gathering? Or is it due to the fact that both lack personality? I can't even say that because Cotto never had a big personality. So, what's the problem?

If Cotto can become a superstar why can't Loma and Crawford

Becuae Puerto Ricans are second o ly yo mexican fans in terms of supporting their fighters. If Puerto Rico was as big as mexico Cotto would have been the biggest draw in the sport this past 10 years.

besides the puerto rican thing, cotto also fought a ton of big names, even if he lost sometimes, got him a lot of coverage.
I worry for crawford that there arent big fights arum will make, arum has already refused to make crawford-pac and the best guys at 147 are with haymond.
Loma really only has two options, rigo, which is big to boxing fans but not casuals, and garcia which would bring the mexican crowd.
Theres a lot of names if crawford goes to 147 but theyre outside of arum and arum has already said the words "crawford-horn" which nobody wants to see that chit in 2018

Black Americans have football and basketball filled with black athletes to support and idolize and generally aren't very concerned with boxing. Lomo is a foreigner. If Crawford moves up and cleans out 147 he will get a lot of recognition from Black America.

beating thurman or porter would only help him but agree there arent really many "names"
Arum made sure Cotto fought as many names as possible, so even guys like judah and malinaggi, they may not have been the absolute best but they still had big names.
Considering that route broner is a huge "name" and it would have really helped crawford to have been the first guy to stop him before garcia got to him but hes a haymond guy so it wasnt going to happen.
I dont think every single one of those guys cotto fought were all in house, GBP/hamond/top rank used to work better 10 years ago compared to today.
