I am seriously considering going to theaters to watch #MayMac, and it's only $40.....

But I do have a few questions for those who have gone to big fights at theaters.

    1. How was the overall experience? (Also if you are in the L.A. area what theater do you recommend?)

    2. Did you go alone? Did you feel awkward going alone?

    3. Were you shitfaced or sober?

    4. How early did you arrive and how long did it take for the theater to get packed?

    5. Do they typically ONLY show the PPV portion of the broadcast, or do they also show the prelim under cards (the prospects and stuff)?

Edit: PS - I don't care about you people coming in this thread talking about how it's not worth it to drop a dime on this fight. I really don't care. I want to watch this event and I will. No one will convince me not to buy the fight, so don't waste your time.

been to them a few times, atleast mayweather-cotto and one of the mayweather-maidanas. I think it used to be like $25 though, 40 sucks but I may go this weekend. been with people and by myself, both were worth it IMO. The mayweather-cotto fight there were some pissed off puerto ricans, chit was funny. Its really cool watching it live and on the big screen. Only annoying part is how long it can be from the undercard. I dont have a cable box anymore so PPV is not an option and streams are usually chittty. Um also I was sober, they didnt have drinking at the theaters I was at but I know a lot have beer these days or i guess you could smuggle your own liquor in...

      4 and 5:

I got there when the movie/theater time starts. They will start off with the undercard. Its been a while but a few fights before the main event, same as is on the PPV. I could get good seats at that time because a lot of people came in late closer towards the main event.

I think he meant the undercards before the PPV broadcast even starts. Like the pre-pre undercards. I believe they are being televised on FOX.

I am also curious about this.

I've seen big fights at the movie theater twice. In 2012 for the Mayweather-Cotto fight and 2015 for the Cotto-Canelo fight.

The most I've payed was $20, I think the first time was $18.50.

$40 is a lot to see a fight at the theater, yikes! I wouldn't pay that much. You may be better off at a bar paying $20 or so.

But my experience was really good. I went to AMC at Universal City at City Walk. Different experience eating popcorn and drinking soda watching a fight. But seeing the fights on a huge screen like that was cool. Myself, I wouldn't pay $40 for a ticket, but that's just me.
