Comments Thread For: McGregor on How Mayweather First Got on His Radar Years Ago

Conor McGregor has revealed he first targeted a fight with Floyd Mayweather before he had even established himself in the UFC. The Irishman on Saturday makes his professional boxing debut when he faces Mayweather at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena. He does so as the UFC's greatest asset, but enters a fight that could prove hugely uncompetitive even if it pays him his greatest ever purse.

This is just an admission that he's modeled his entire persona after Mayweather...its kind of cartoonish really

Dana White is no dummy. He wanted to work with Floyd years ago, and Conor gave him his second chance

Conors delusion will be over by this time next week.He will be talking clearly about the why he had no answers to Floyds movement and precise punchers and after exerting all his energy he could not go on.

when he was little. he makes it seem like floyd is 60 or something. when he was 11, floyd was 22. at this time, floyd wasnt the floyd that he is of today so what mcgregor is saying is a lie.

I know how McGregor got on my radar...Skip Bayless! Low-key, I credit Skip Bayless for the promotion of this fight! I don't think Floyd was even thinking about fighting @ 40, but Skip Bayless' tirades on First Take planted the seed, and set the wheels in motion! Now here we are! Thanks Skip...you ****ing idiot!

I just wonder when it gets too hot for Macgregor will he start running away as he did in the diaz fight?
